CHAUFFEUR company Extra Mile has invested in new additions to its fleet of vehicles.
The Weymouth-based firm has added a 7 series BMW and a Mercedes E320 Tourer. The expansion comes despite increased petrol prices and pressures on motoring related industries.
Director Mick Coles said that the past year had been challenging with the increases in fuel prices but that the business continued to develop and expand.
"The recent increases in fuel charges have been a challenge for us but we have worked with all our customers very closely and people understand that the price of fuel is not negotiable.
"Whilst we absorb as much of the extra cost as possible sometimes we have to pass on the cost to our customers but only when its absolutely necessary.
"Let's hope the oil price settles down soon."
The company has secured a contract as chauffeurs for Weymouth Carnival 2008, for the Carnival Queen, attendants and guests.
One of its drivers, David White, was made an MBE in the latest honours.
