Children in Christ-church can spend their pocket money at a new toy shop.
Kelly Gee and her partner John Denton have opened K&J Toyshop at 5 St Catherine’s Parade, the first traditional toy shop in the town since Roberts, the long-established shop, closed two years ago.
K&J, which opened on Saturday, with special guest Snappy the crocodile, sells all manner of toys from wooden models through to educational games and fishing sets.
“The last thing people will stop spending money on is their children,” said Miss Gee, who also sells traditional sweets from the Dorset Sweet Company in Poole.
Instead of going to the banks to finance her venture, Miss Gee has borrowed from her parents.
