Merlin’s magical results

Merlin Entertainments, the Poole-based owner of Legoland, Alton Towers, Madame Tussauds and the London Eye, recorded revenues of £769m to December 26, 2009.

The company, which has introduced an annual pass, has benefited from people holidaying at home. Total visitor numbers rose by almost 10 per cent to 38.5m. Chief executive Nick Varney was “delighted” at the results, which he said were the result of investment over the last decade.
