In the three months to January total unemployment stood at 2.45 million, down 33,000 on the figure for the previous three months.

Helen Stacey, head of operations and business development at Team Recruitment Solutions in Poole, said that this has been reflected in the local jobs market. “We have seen an increase in the amount of bookings and vacancies we have taken on from our clients,” she said.
