SUBTLE styling changes for 2010 include a larger front bumper and bigger wheel arches.
However, Toyota has made significant changes inside the cabin including a new updated dashboard with traditional style large switches.
On the road expect a lot less body roll than its predecessor thanks to Toyota’s KDSS (Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System) and Roll Posture control, allowing you to tune ride settings by selecting, Normal, Soft or Sport mode. Multi-terrain settings including crawl control further enhance the off-road capabilities.
The Landcruiser is a big vehicle at just over 4.7 meters in length, yet surprisingly enough, the turning circle is very good, meaning the Landcruiser is very manoeuverable even in small spaces.
There is a cavernous boot space measuring nearly 2 meters long, 1.3 meters wide and over a meter high.
The 3.0 diesel engine produces 171bhp and 302lb ft of torque, CO2 emissions are just 214g/km meaning VED band K. Zero to 60mph is achieved in 11.7 seconds and the Landcruiser will continue to just under 110mph where the law allows.
Toyota has included a wealth of standard features including, triple zone climate control, electric sunroof, privacy glass, a seventeen speaker acoustic sound system, satellite navigation with Bluetooth connectivity for your phone.
An electrically adjustable steering column (tilt and telescopic) and electric heated memory seats ensure you stay comfortable on your journey.
Feeling thirsty? Then reach into the cooled centre armrest for a refreshing chilled drink. Also included is a six CD and DVD player where the front passengers are able to watch films through the satellite navigation screen. While rear passengers have their own drop-down screen.
For an enhanced view ahead Toyota has included HID headlights with pop-up cleaners and auto-leveling while multi view cameras give a clear view from the wing mirrors down and a single view from the front of the car all seen through the touch screen satellite navigation, plus the rear view parking camera.
You certainly feel safe and secure when travelling in the Landcrusier, with it high commanding driving position and good all round visibility.
To sum up the Landcruiser gives a rugged go-anywhere feel. With so many standard features, huge interior space, good off road capability and Toyotas five year warranty or three years free servicing, you certainly get a lot of kit for your money.
