A POOLE company has been named the top renewable energy installer in the south and south west at a national awards ceremony.

NGPS Ltd was among the big winners at the prestigious National Renewable Awards held at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena and hosted by TV’s Julia Bradbury and Michael McIntyre.

This is the first year that these awards have been run and NGPS were one of the top three companies nominated, alongside a firm from Manchester and one from Ipswich.

NGPS specialises in installing renewable energy technology including solar thermal for heating and hot water, solar PV for electricity, ground and air source heat pumps and pressurised hot water cylinders.

The awards recognise high quality in installation, knowledge, staff training and customer care.

NGPS boss Nick Good, whose own home features some of the technology he installs, said: “I am extremely proud that we have been recognised as the best in the region. It’s a great tribute my team.

“This is a huge achievement for a small company competing against much larger organisations.”

In 2010, NGPS were one of the first companies to be registered under the benchmark Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS), an internationally recognised quality assurance scheme for the renewable energy industry.

Nick, who employs five staff, added: “We have proved that high quality installations using high quality equipment is enough to get national recognition.

The company is also registered with the Electrical Contractors Association.

NGPS is a member of the Bournemouth Chamber Trade and Commerce.
