BOURNEMOUTH’S Woodcroft Hotel is set to undergo a £1 million extension and refurbishment.

Rel Hotels, the investment vehicle of Andy Scott leisure property entrepreneur, has exchanged contracts with hotel operator Accor to re-brand the hotel.

Accor, who have brands such as Ibis, ETAP, Novotel, Sofitel and Mecure, are set to refurbish and extend the 1-acre site of the Woodcroft Hotel on Gervis Road to create a 57 bed All Seasons Hotel.

The work will mark the first phase of development, which is set to open over the next 12 weeks and undergo a £1 million extension and refurbishment over the winter.

All Seasons is a boutique budget hotel, with distinctive bright and funky colours and is relatively new to the UK. The chain is popular through Asia, Australia and the pacific region.

Its intention in UK is to compete with brands such as Travelodge, and Premier Inn, but be added value offering inclusive breakfast, wifi and other services included in the price for as little as £25 per person. The neighbouring boutique Orchid Hotel is also owned by Andy and he is actively looking for a third hotel in the area to be rebranded.

In a busy month, REL have exchanged on three pub sites in the area for residential development which are currently going through the planning process.
