BOURNEMOUTH-based consultancy Terence O’Rourke has helped secure planning permission for a solar photovoltaic (PV) powered installation in Devon, which will generate up to five megawatts of electricity over the next 25 years.

The award-winning agency’s work means that Langage Solar Park in Plympton can continue in its drive to produce energy for homes in the south west.

Financed and developed by Carlton Power, a British energy company, the £15million Langage solar farm consists of more than 21,000 solar panels and has been built on a 12 hectare (30 acre) site.

Terence O’Rourke has been advising Carlton Power, the owner of the park, on planning issues for a number of years and earlier in 2011 was asked to lead the co-ordination of a planning application for the solar photovoltaic (PV) powered installation on part of the site.

He prepared the display information for a public exhibition of proposals in advance of the planning application submission.
